A woman who lived an impressive life than a movie.

Jacqueline Du Pre (1945.01.26 ~ 1987.10.19)

"What if I can't play the cello because I'm paralyzed later...?”

Childhood Jacqueline Du Pre tells her sister, suggesting her life is more intense than any other movie.

Jacqueline Du Fre, a cellist who appeared in the music society called the genius girl aand the pride of the British music.

Did she even have a preview of her future..

Jacqueline Du Fre started playing the cello as big as her body when she was five years old, and a decade later, at 16, she made her music debut.

And a year later, in 1962, at the Royal Festival Hall, she performed Elgar's "Cello Concerto" with the BBC Symphony Orchestra conducted by Rudolf Schwarz, announcing to the world that a new master was born.

She once again draws the attention of the music society by falling in love with Daniel Barenboim, a genius pianist and rising conductor.

The two genius musicians were likened to Schumann and his wife Clara.

And met their expectations with their excellent performances.

In particular, Elgar's "Cello Concerto" in 1970 is still being talked about.

She played under the direction of her husband, Daniel Barenboim, showing the excellent communication between the two musicians.

But tragedy of Multiple Sclerosis comes to her.

The disease, which slowly hardens her whole body, takes the cello bow from her hand.

The compliment of "her performance drives us crazy" led to the criticism that "she really drives us crazy" and that "she became a little famous so she doesn't play very well"

Eventually, Jacqueline Du Fre had to quit playing the cello when she was 28.

And just as all the sadness in the world is driven to her, her lover Daniel Barenboim leaves her.

But the multiple sclerosis didn't even allow her to cry..

Musical joy and fateful love leave her side one after another.

And as the end of her life come, only her music remained by her side, constantly informing her that she was alive..

Her tragic life makes complicates us.

It reminds me of the life of the painter Frida Kahlo, and I don't understand Daniel Barenboim for not even looking for her tomb.

I'm grateful to her for lighting up the world for a short but intense time, and I'm also unhappy that she had to let go of the cello so early..

Today, I will introduce the music that she left behind.

It's Elgar's cello concerto with her lover in her happiest days.

It's also the music that was with her last..

What did she think and feel while listening to this music?
